How to choose a book
The choice matters less than the method. A predictable, fair process keeps a group together far longer than any single great title.
- Rotate the pick rather than voting — everyone gets a turn, nobody has to argue a choice down.
- Keep it under 350 pages for the first year, while the habit is still forming.
- Balance the year: alternate fiction and nonfiction, familiar and unfamiliar.
- Check availability in paperback, ebook and audio before announcing it.
